About RecapShelf

An independent, spoiler-complete guide to TV episodes, organized by show and season. It currently covers Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Marshals (1063 episodes), with more shows to come.

What each episode page covers

Every page follows the same structure: a one-sentence premise, a quick-facts panel (air date, the main characters involved, key guest stars, director and writers), a full summary of the plot, the ending, a few notes on why the episode stands out, and links to related episodes from the same show.

How the summaries are written

Each recap is written for this site from the episode itself, in our own words. We do not copy episode descriptions, dialogue or other sites’ recaps; quotes are limited to a few words where a phrase matters to the plot. Summaries state what happens on screen and avoid guessing at characters’ motives or feelings.

Character names and spellings follow the episode’s cast credits; where a character is credited under a different name than the one spoken on screen, the page gives both. Air dates, directors and writing credits come from published episode credits.

For Law & Order, the quick-facts panel lists the detectives and prosecutors on the case; when an episode draws on a real case, the page says so only when a published source makes the connection, and notes when that link is reported rather than confirmed.

For Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the quick-facts panel lists the regular cast members who appear in the episode; when an episode draws on a real case, the page says so only when a published source makes the connection, and notes when that link is reported rather than confirmed.

For Marshals, each recap is split into the case of the week and the team’s ongoing stories, and the quick-facts panel lists the case, the regular cast members who appear, any ties to Yellowstone and the music performed on screen; when an episode draws on a real case, the page says so only when a published source makes the connection, and notes when that link is reported rather than confirmed.
