Summary
“I Deserve Some Loving Too” opens with a subway operation against gropers run with Sgt. Hasim Khaldun’s transit unit. One arrest draws a crowd shouting police brutality, and the video goes viral, drawing questions from Deputy Chief Christian Garland. The catch is a decorated firefighter, a serial offender with 139 priors and Duane Varik, a data clerk at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services who smashed his phone and threw it onto the tracks. His boss, Rory O’Toole, who vets marriages for green cards, lets the detectives check Varik’s office computer, and they find upskirt photos posted from his desk. Varik then accuses O’Toole of holding up green cards to extort sex from immigrant women.
Lina Vasquez-Boyd, a Guatemalan woman married to an American, admits O’Toole forced her to have sex three times but will not testify. Rosamie Klein denies anything happened. Maggie Quigley says she refused him, was locked up in immigration detention, and fears he will deport her husband, Patrick, if she speaks. Rather than hand the case to federal prosecutors, Benson uses a Homeland Security contact to send a new application across O’Toole’s desk: Rollins and Khaldun pose as a married couple, Mandy and Fuad al-Badeen. O’Toole flags their differences in age, religion and income, then meets Mandy alone in his minivan, which has a mattress in the back, and demands sex in exchange for the green card. He is arrested, but his lawyer, John Buchanan, says O’Toole was only testing a fake marriage, and he is released without bail.
Maggie agrees to testify in return for a U visa, though a visit to Patrick reveals that their own marriage is a sham. Lina, whose husband now checks her texts and follows her, agrees once she learns she can stay in the country even if she leaves him. Hadid rejects a misdemeanor deal, and Carisi charges rape. At trial before Judge Felicia Catano, Buchanan goes after Varik, Khaldun and Rollins. Then Lina, newly pregnant, backs out, fearing her husband will think the baby is O’Toole’s.
Spoiler, the ending: Khaldun, who is part Jewish, talks with Rosamie’s husband, Eddie, and wins him over. With Rosamie and Maggie ready to testify, Carisi confronts O’Toole, who rants that he was protecting the borders, and O’Toole takes a plea to three counts of third-degree rape and 15 years. Rosamie says she and Eddie are closer than ever, and Rollins and Khaldun get to know each other.
