Season 3 recap
Aired on Citytv from March to May 2026, the third season is Aden Young’s last as DS Henry Graff, partnered with DS Frankie Bateman under Insp. Vivienne Holness, alongside Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester, pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva and Mark Yohannes. “Skin Deep,” set during Fashion Week, links a young model’s murder to other dead women and to designer Dorian Sharpe, whose cheek swab, the detectives conclude, cannot match the blood evidence because a stem cell treatment, taken from a pregnancy he made his agent end, has given his blood another person’s DNA.
Several killers are people trusted to help. A pathologist in “Uncertain Justice” kills a mother, jailed on his evidence for her baby’s death, while searching for the proof she gathered against him, and a review ties his errors to the convictions of 12 mothers; Graff tells him he was abused as a child. A campus therapist murders a criminology student in “Whole Lotta Love,” and in “The Winning Bid” a bank manager running a mortgage fraud scheme pleads guilty to second-degree murder. Don McKellar plays the host of a festival that screens a real snuff film in “Up to Snuff,” the season’s first episode without Forrester.
“Forget Me Not” finds a retired mob hitman frozen near the retirement home where Yohannes’s mother lives; his longtime lover, a mob boss’s wife, left him in the cold before his failing memory could betray them. In “Lost & Unfound” a handyman killed on a Rosedale trail proves to have murdered six men, including three missing from the Gay Village, and the bar manager who killed him staged his death to make police connect the cases.
Graff’s past takes over the finale, “XOXO.” A new Environment Minister dies in a fall from her balcony, and her secret companion is his father, Charles; after their clash, Holness pulls Graff off the case. His mother’s death in Paris when he was 12 was ruled a suicide, which he has blamed on Charles, and Bateman walks him through the file until he accepts it. Reinstated, Graff draws an admission from the minister’s 14-year-old son, who agrees he pushed her after she laughed at his wish for things to be as they were, calling it an accident. The partners end with the root beer floats they missed; in season 4, Bateman is paired with DS John Darcy (Luke Kirby) of Guns and Gangs.
